Tom Furlong (Transparent)

Tom Furlong is a Managing Director with Harvard Group International. He has over 10 years of experience successfully handling executive and management level searches in the US and Asian markets. He has helped solve clients’ needs for top performing talent in a number of industries with a variety of roles extending from President to staff-level individual contributors. In addition to his search experience, he has held various sales and sales leadership positions throughout North America during a 13-year career with Novartis.

Tom’s primary role with Harvard Group International is to add to the team’s expertise in assisting clients in the Life Sciences and Natural Resources (exploration, production and transportation) industries, along with identifying superior leadership talent as part of HGI’s Corporate Governance practice. He leads HGI’s team of researches and network of industry and economic experts to quickly source and screen the top performing talent available and then secures the client’s top choice candidate for the open search project.

Tom is recognized as a thought leader in the search industry, having given presentations to diverse groups ranging from the America-Japan Chamber of Commerce to Young Professionals in Energy International Summit. He applies determination, recruiting process knowledge, understanding of corporate cultures and enthusiasm to fuel his success in working with clients ranging in size from multi-national conglomerates to startup organizations with fewer than 20 employees.

Tom earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University. He and his wife Robin live in Marietta, Georgia, where they are active with the Be The Match Foundation, an organization that seeks to increase the registry of potential blood cell and bone marrow donors to help patients suffering from leukemia and various blood disorders. In their spare time, he and his wife enjoy refining their culinary skills and traveling the world.
