Martin Adlam is Managing Director of Harvard Group International (HGI) heading the firm’s Consumer Products, Branded Sports, Power, Industrial and Telecommunications Practices. He is also a key leader within HGI’s expanding global capabilities and serves as the head of the firm’s European and North & Sub-Saharan Africa efforts. He is an experienced senior business consultant, general manager and executive search practitioner, with proven international expertise and an enviable track record of success consulting and recruiting for and on behalf of major FTSE100/ Forbes 50 and other global ‘blue chip’ companies across Africa, Eastern/Central Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

Whilst based in Europe, the geographical split on search assignments executed was: UK and Western Europe, 36%; Central/Eastern Europe & Russia, 24%; Africa & the Middle East, 30%; and the remaining 10% of activity in the Indian sub-continent and Asia Pacific. 70% of all assignments executed were for overseas positions and the ratio of local national placements to expatriates was 40:60 on international assignments, securing repeat business from 80% of Clients.

Martin’s 18 years in the international arena brings a diverse wealth of experience and knowledge to HGI and its clients. Experienced and at ease working with national Presidents, government ministers and corporate executives alike, he has earned a flawless reputation for delivery and ‘partnership’ with Clients. He has also assisted many US corporations with their overseas expansion and/or recovery activities, guiding and advising on market entry strategy and execution, as well as government relations and affairs, in markets across Africa and Eastern/Central Europe. With a vast network of ‘on the ground’ contacts, he is well situated to guide and advise any international operation on local customs, opportunities and partners.

A British Citizen, he has lived on three continents and can conduct business in English and French.
