POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Vice President/General Manager of Hardware Americas will lead the supply chain and operations functions as the company continues its evolution as a world-class proactive, innovative, flexible, customer-centric, and efficient organization. Serving as a key strategic partner to stakeholders at the highest levels, both internally and externally, this individual will manage and own the financial performance and customer service performance for the Hardware Americas region. S/he will leverage best practices to minimize working capital and cost, whilst maximizing business opportunities and growth, and ensure the strategy is communicated and delivered throughout the group companies and departments to achieve growth targets, with a vision to where the market is headed within Hardware Americas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strategy and direct overall operations for customer and warehouse operations functions in the Hardware Americas team; the scope and scale of which includes:
  • Total headcount of ~1,200 with revenues of ~$1 Billion.
  • 10 distribution centers and warehousing operational staff on-site at numerous customer sites.
  • Inventory Management Logistics.
  • Tactical Purchasing Customer Service.
  • Quality Assurance On-Demand Services.
  • Implement and standardize supply chain processes, methodologies and tools across the Americas; drive improvements in operational excellence using Lean Six Sigma and other approaches.
  • Develop roadmap for and execute the integration of recently merged businesses into the Hardware Americas, driving efficiencies and synergies while ensuring customer service, quality and delivery metrics are maintained/improved.
  • Support future M&A, such as operational due diligence and operational integration for acquisition.
  • Drive the implementation of supply chain IT systems; scout for, select and implement new technologies and systems, such as WMS and TMS.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with a top-performing supply chain or operations organization.
  • Integrated Supply Chain and Operations Leader with responsibility for multiple functional areas, most notably Distribution, Logistics and Customer Service. Expertise in other areas, such as S&OP, Procurement and IT would be a plus.
  • Experience standing up or upgrading a function or team in an environment characterized by change and ambiguity, preferably an M&A integration.
  • Has delivered synergies via tools such as LEAN, footprint rationalization, SKU rationalization and inventory management with significant and sustained impact to the P&L and Cash Flow.
  • Experience in a lightly resourced mid-cap company with focus on financial discipline and sense of urgency.
  • Links supply chain with P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet outcomes.

COMPENSATION

A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus.
