ROLE OVERVIEW
The Project Manager – Architectural Facades is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for managing large-scale architectural metal projects from award to closeout. The Project Manager serves as the central point of contact between clients, internal departments, fabricators, and installers, ensuring high-quality delivery on time and within budget. In this role, technical expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent relationship management are essential. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, excels at anticipating risks, and brings a proactive mindset to solving problems before they arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the full project lifecycle from contract award to final punch list, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and engineering, estimating, sales, and fabrication teams to ensure aligned project execution.
- Coordinate submittals, shop drawings, and approvals to interpret and communicate design intent.
- Conduct site visits, oversee fabrication timelines, ensure alignment with installation and delivery deadlines.
- Manage risks, resolve field issues, and serve as the on-the-ground troubleshooter when problems arise.
- Lead project status meetings and maintain communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the sales and estimating team during preconstruction with technical input and engineering recommendations.
- Build and maintain client relationships driving repeat business and supporting reputation in the market.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, project specifications, and contract requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts and assist in the development of project management best practices across the team.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of project management experience in architectural façades, curtain wall, exterior cladding, or related building envelope projects.
- Proficient in interpreting and coordinating CAD drawings and submittals using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Able to resolve conflicts diplomatically and maintain composure with clients, fabricators, and installers in high-stakes situations.
- Proven success delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Comfortable traveling to job sites and fabrication facilities as needed (50%+ travel initially).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working cross-functionally across North America.
