The Controller of Americas will serve as the operational leader of accounting across the Americas reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Accounting. This role will be responsible for executing the regional accounting function, including close processes, statutory reporting, inventory and cost accounting, and financial controls across the Americas business, with primary operational responsibility for the US and coordination with regional teams in Central & South America.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across the Americas, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting.
- Lead investigation and resolution of legacy accounting items inherited from prior reporting structures, ensuring reconciliations are understood, documented, and appropriately resolved.
- Oversee regional accounting operations, including general ledger, inventory accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements across regional entities.
- Partner with the Vice President of Global Accounting to implement standardized accounting policies, procedures, and controls across the Americas.
- Support global consolidation by ensuring accurate and timely regional reporting packages.
- Oversee accounting for manufacturing operations, service contracts, aftermarket parts, and project-based revenue streams.
- Work effectively with outsourced and shared service accounting teams (including third-party service centers) to establish clear ownership, accountability, and process control.
REQUIREMENTS
- You are an Experienced Accounting Leader: With 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or project-based environments.
- You are Operationally Grounded: With hands-on experience managing accounting functions across inventory, cost accounting, fixed assets, and multi-entity financial reporting.
- You Understand Complex Accounting Environments: With experience operating within multi-ERP environments, shared services structures, or carve-out/transformation situations.
- You Bring Technical Accounting Strength: With working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and multi-entity reporting environments.
- You are Well Educated: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA certification are required.
COMPENSATION
A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus.
