Architectural Products Estimator

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Architectural Products Estimator will report to the Department Manager. There are no direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upon receipt of a new project, the Architectural Products Estimator will set up a new quote file. Estimator is responsible for obtaining architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Review drawings and specifications to determine scope of work for quoting. An emphasis on timely review and requests for clarification from customers is of the utmost importance.
  • Effectively and promptly handle all forms of correspondence (phone, e-mail, etc.) with prospective customers.
  • Estimator will locate all areas in the drawings package where client materials are to be installed and will record this information into the take-off form. Record the drawing number(s) as well as detailed references, revisions, etc., into the take-off form. All files, information, correspondence, etc. during the quoting stage need to be kept on file for future reference.
  • Upon completion of take-off, cost will be calculated using both internal and external resources (cost sheets, outside processor costs, packaging costs, etc.)
  • Once all costs have been calculated, Estimator will determine sales price for scope of work based on market knowledge, competition environment, material trends, expected delivery dates, etc.
  • Clearly list all inclusions and exclusions in quote to ensure customer is aware of scope of work and supply.
  • Estimator will deliver quote to customer and Cc sales representative to ensure the follow up process can begin.
  • Estimator will be responsible for maintaining quotes in Pipedrive detailing project information, customer information, product, pricing, and anticipated requirement dates. Pipedrive will be maintained by Estimator and will be accessible to the sales representative as well as Architectural Department Manager and Canada General Manager for review.

LOCATION

This division is in Burlington, ON, Canada. The ideal candidate will reside in the Greater Toronto area.

EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience as an estimator in the metals and/or cladding industry.
  • Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers and colleagues/vendo
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Bluebeam or relatable estimator software and Pipedrive or relatable CRM.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking ski
  • Deadline focused with the ability to set priorities.
